Soon the Girl Scout dream of a beautiful well-maintained
camp designed to welcome all girls, including those who are physically
challenged, will become a reality. Young day campers will be learning
to swim, seasoned campers will be sleeping in leantos, and troops will
be looking forward to their first weekend camping experience in a log
cabin!
The 212-acre camp is located in Mendham and Harding
Townships. It is a beautiful wooded property adjacent to the Morristown
National Historical Park. The Girl Scouts have camped at the site for
more than 70 years, beginning in 1929. The outdoor program consists
of a day camp program for girls ages 5 to 14 during the summer; weekend
troop camping in the spring and fall; and council- sponsored daytime
activities and educational programs centered on nature studies throughout
the year.
