Morris Area Girl Scout Council is a member agency of the United Way of Morris County. The United Way supports both the core Girl Scout program and our Project Safe After School Program with an allocation.

About The United Way of Morris County

On June 5, 1922, several Morris County citizens came together to raise money to help 5 non-profit agencies, and The Community Chest - now known as United Way of Morris County - was born. Since that time, United Way of Morris County volunteers have committed themselves and the organization to funding human care service programs that enrich the lives of those who live and work in the community.

Today, United Way is the largest private funder of human care services in Morris County, having raised over $280,000,000 during the past 76 years. In addition to raising funds, United Way has established the Community Initiatives Committee, whose staff and volunteers work collaboratively with government, education and business to facilitate positive change in our community.

Volunteers also assess the human care needs in the county, raise and distribute funds to human care agencies with effective service programs and govern the operations within the organization. The programs that United Way of Morris County supports help people of all ages and backgrounds learn to help themselves. In fact, one in five Morris County residents benefit from a United Way-funded program.
