Girl Scouts of the USA is the world's largest
organization dedicated to building girls of
character, confidence and courage, who make
the world a better place. In an accepting
and nurturing environment, and in partnership
with committed adult volunteers, girls develop
strong values, leadership skills, social conscience
and conviction about their own potential and
self-worth that will serve them all their
lives.
Founded in 1912 by Juliette Gordon Low, Girl
Scouts' membership has grown from 18 members
in Savannah, Georgia, to nearly four million
members throughout the United States, including
Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, and in
more than 80 countries through USA Girl Scouts
Overseas.

GIRL
SCOUT LAW
I will do my best to be
honest and fair,
friendly and helpful,
considerate and caring,
courageous and strong, and
responsible for what I say and do,
and to
respect myself and others,
respect authority,
use resources wisely,
make the world a better place, and
be a sister to every Girl Scout.

THE
GIRL SCOUT PROMISE
On my honor, I will try:
To serve God and my country,
To help people at all times,
And to live by the Girl Scout Law.
The word "God" can be interpreted
in a number of ways, depending on one's spiritual
beliefs. When reciting the Girl Scout Promise,
it is okay to replace the word "God"
with whatever word your spiritual beliefs
dictate.
