MAGSC'S Patch Program!

 

Morris Area Girl Scout Council offers its own patch program for Girl Scouts of all levels.



Staying Healthy, Keeping Fit

  • During a Girl Scout year, try a new sport, make a healthy fun snack, stay in shape, feel good and wear a new patch on your vest or sash.
  • MAGSC's own patch program encourages all Girl Scouts to try new fitness activities, participate in health events and discover the benefits of staying fit and eating healthy.
  • Girls will select from council activities and other activities they do as a troop or on their own.
  • Patches, information and activity sheets are available in the Council Shop.

Princess Zip

  • A FREE patch program designed for 2nd grade Brownie Girl Scouts through 5th grade Junior Girl Scouts that teaches nutrition and physical fitness.
  • Girls will discover what ZIP stands for as they perform a play and do fun, innovative activities found in the their activity book.
  • This program is funded by America's Beef Producers and developed exclusively for Girl Scouts of the USA.
  • Free patches, girl activity booklets and leader guides are available at the Council Shop.

Girl Scouts Fighting Hunger in New Jersey

Designed to:

  • Increase Girl Scouts' understanding and awareness of hunger in New Jersey.
  • Encourage girls to take action and help reduce hunger in their local area.
  • Information sheets and patches are available for purchase at the Council Shop.

Historically Speaking

  • Learn about the four Girl Scout World Centers and the culture and history of their countries. Great resources for Thinking Day activities and events! India, England, Switzerland and Mexico, plus New Jersey and Savannah, Georgia
  • Patches for each program are available through Patchwork Designs, Inc. Visit them on the Web at www.patchworkdesigns.net.
  • Program information available in the HUB office Resource Library.

Issues for Girl Scouts

Age-level booklets focusing on topics with direct impact on girls' lives today.

  • In the Zone: Living Drug Free...encourages girls to find their "zone" by living a healthy and drug-free life.
  • Leader guides, girl booklets and patches for each age level are available for purchase at the Council Shop.

Zink the Zebra

  • Program teaches acceptance of individual differences.
  • Trained volunteer adults and Cadette & Senior Girl Scouts administer the program. Refer to facilitator list in Program Packet.
  • Patch and zebra beanie sets, as well as storybook are available for purchase at the Council Shop.

Staying Safe

  • Designed to help girls, ages 4-11, learn ways to ensure their personal safety.
  • Covers topics such as saying "no" to potentially dangerous adults, good and bad touches and sexual harassment. Patches and requirements available for purchase at the Council Shop.

Water Drop Patch

  • The Water Drop Patch Project was developed in partnership with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. It offers Brownie, Junior and Older Girl Scouts, ages 11-17 hands-on activities focusing on watershed management and resource conservation.
  • An electronic copy of the project booklet can be located on the Linking Girls to the Land Web site at www.epa.gov/adopt/patch/. Copies of the booklet are also available for FREE by calling the National Service Center for Environmental Publications at 1-800-490-9198.
  • Patches can be purchased at the Council Shop.

Get With The Land Patch

Girl Scouts can earn this patch by participating in Linking Girls to the Land projects and opportunities. Linking Girls to the Land encourages Girl Scouts to become involved in issues related to conservation and natural resources through partnerships with federal agencies on national and local levels. The patch can be earned by Brownie Girl Scouts, Junior Girl Scouts, and Girl Scouts ages 11-17.
