Financial support and scholarships are offered
as well as grants to Girl Scouts who qualify.

| The Gloria Barron Prize
for Young Heroes honors outstanding young leaders
who have made a significant difference to people
and our planet. Their leadership and courage make
them an inspiration to all. Annually the Barron
Prize selects two winners nationwide. Nominees
must be between 8-18 years old and have been the
prime mover of a service activity. Winners receive
$2,000 to be applied to higher education or their
service project. Responsible adults who have knowledge
of the young person and who are not related to
the nominee can make nominations. For complete

| The Corinne Jeannine Schillings
Foundation will award renewable scholarships to
deserving young women who have earned the Girl
Scout Gold Award or Girl Scout Silver Award and
who plan to or are currently pursuing a college
major or minor in foreign language. The foundation
will also provide airfare grants for a Girl Scout
Silver and Gold Award recipient who plans to study
abroad, regardless or her major or minor. It is
not necessary to be a scholarship recipient to
apply for this one-time grant, nor are scholarship
recipients excluded from applying. Visit

Shiller Math is offering
ShillerMath Rising Star Scholarships to acknowledge
outstanding performance and potential in math
and the sciences by Girl Scouts. Four scholarships
and six runner-up prizes will be awarded each
year for the next five years. To be eligible
for the ShillerMath Rising Star Scholarships,
candidates must be:
- A registered Girl Scout
- Plan to graduate high school two years from
now
- Plan to study college-level mathematics
after high school graduation
The top four applicants will receive $2,500
per year up to a maximum of $10,000 total
toward tuition.
Applications must be received by March 31,
2006. Applications received after that date
will be returned unopened. |
