Overnight
Orientation
Overnight Orientation is a three-hour course
that covers readiness, progression, overnight
facilities, girl planning, emergency procedures,
safety tips, parent communication, equipment,
kapers, camps, adult responsibilities and
program information.
• Requirement: One adult volunteer
per troop is required to take this course
for the following activities (where all
meals are provided and there are no campfires
that you are in charge of*):
• Sleepovers in private homes, including
tent camping in a backyard
• Council sponsored weekends at
Camp Mogisca and other community encampments
• Overnights at hotels, motels,
environmental centers and other activity
centers
*Please note- if you plan on tent camping
at a campground on your own (not as part
of a community encampment- for example,
tent camping at Hershey Park or tent camping
at Beach Jam), you must take the Troop Camper
certification as well as Overnight Orientation.
Cost: $9.50 covers the cost of a copy of
Outdoor Education in Girl Scouting. Please
make check payable to MAGSC or you may pay
via credit card on your registration form.
What to Bring: Please bring a copy of Safety
Wise, if possible.
