OVERNIGHT TRAINING

Overnight Orientation

Overnight Orientation is a three-hour course that covers readiness, progression, overnight facilities, girl planning, emergency procedures, safety tips, parent communication, equipment, kapers, camps, adult responsibilities and program information.

• Requirement: One adult volunteer per troop is required to take this course for the following activities (where all meals are provided and there are no campfires that you are in charge of*):
• Sleepovers in private homes, including tent camping in a backyard
• Council sponsored weekends at Camp Mogisca and other community encampments
• Overnights at hotels, motels, environmental centers and other activity centers

*Please note- if you plan on tent camping at a campground on your own (not as part of a community encampment- for example, tent camping at Hershey Park or tent camping at Beach Jam), you must take the Troop Camper certification as well as Overnight Orientation.
Cost: $9.50 covers the cost of a copy of Outdoor Education in Girl Scouting. Please make check payable to MAGSC or you may pay via credit card on your registration form.
What to Bring: Please bring a copy of Safety Wise, if possible.
